Reaching out into our communities is vital to our organization,
developing relationships with community leaders, media, school faculty
and local civic groups can greatly assist each post in achieving the VFW
mission.
- Voice of Democracy and Patriot's Pen Competitions for Middle and High School Students for a chance to earn a scholarship and trip to Washington D.C.
- Wreathes Across America: Placing Wreathes on Veterans Graves at Cemeteries in Auburn AL.
- Public Safety Recognition for those who show outstanding performance during their duties.
- Educating our Youth through various events at County Fairs to encourage Patriotism and understanding of what the military is and can offer.
- Post Service Officers for All Veterans in need of help navigating their VA process.
- Buddy Poppy Drive to Remember our Fallen Brothers and Sisters.
- Going to meet Veterans at Nursing Homes and at the Hospital.
- Helping other Organizations to put Flags up around the city during Holidays.
- Food Drives for our First Responders
- And many more as we find new opportunities to help!
Individuals within the VFW are also part of many different programs including but not limited too CO-OP Extension Service, University Activities, Local Groups, many different avenues that may guide you to a new hobby such as bee keeping, falconry, etc. We would love to show you new and exciting activities!
